The
collapse of World Trade Center 7 is one huge smoking gun
of 9/11. WTC 7 fell perfectly, as if the entire building
structure failed all at once. Although you can see the very
top of the building begins the collapse with a noticeable
bowing, then penthouse starts down, followed by about 7
explosions moving up the right-hand corner, distinct explosions
fractions of a second apart. Notice the way the top moves
as if the center of the building is pulling the outside
in toward the center. That is what you would expect to see
in a controlled demolition, with the goal being to contain
the debris within the foot print of the building. Like the
Twin Towers building 7 falls at the rate of free fall, with
little or no resistance.

The unprecedented
collapse of a steel structured building like 7 WTC,
has led some to theorize the building collapsed by
means of a controlled demolition. This idea gained
momentum after Larry Silverstein, the property
owner of 7 WTC, was quoted in the 2002 PBS documentary
''America Rebuilds'' as saying:
:"I
remember getting a call from the Fire Department commander,
telling me they were not sure they were gonna be able
to contain the fire, and I said, you know, 'We've
had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest
thing to do is just pull it.' And they made that decision
to pull it and we watched the building collapse."

The expression
could simply refer to a decision to pull firefighting operations
out of the building; however, some interpret this as a command
to initiate the destruction of the building by a controlled
method. In the same PBS documentary the term "pull"
is also used by a worker to refer to the demolition of 6
World Trade Center later in December 2001, when he says
"we're getting ready to pull the building six."
On September
9, 2005, Mr. Dara McQuillan, a spokesman for Silverstein
Properties, attempted to clarify what that comment was referring
to:
:"In the
afternoon of September 11, Mr. Silverstein spoke to the
Fire Department Commander on site at Seven World Trade Center.
The Commander told Mr. Silverstein that there were several
firefighters in the building working to contain the fires.
Mr. Silverstein expressed his view that the most important
thing was to protect the safety of those firefighters, including,
if necessary, to have them withdraw from the building."
Critics of the
"controlled demolition" theory claim that 7 WTC
suffered extensive damage due to the collapse of Towers
1 and 2 as well as multiple fires throughout. It is thought
the combination of these events provided additional stresses
on the structure resulting in a chain reaction that led
to its eventual collapse. However the extent of the damage
to 7 WTC has never been proven.
Supporters of
the demolition theory point out that no steel building has
ever collapsed from either a fire http://www.pastpeak.com/archives/2004/10/wtc7_a_part_4_2.htm,
or from a direct hit by an aircraft. It is this historical
reference that draws a supporter of this claim to the theory
that not only WTC 7 but also the Twin Towers collapsed due
to a controlled demolition.
The FEMA
report on the WTC collapse says:
:"The specifics
of the fires in WTC 7 and how they caused the building to
collapse remain unknown at this time. Although the total
diesel fuel on the premises contained massive potential
energy, the best hypothesis has only a low probability of
occurrence. Further research, investigation, and analyses
are needed to resolve this issue."
With an ongoing
study of WTC 7, The National Institute of Standards and
Technology has stated, "NIST has seen no evidence
that the collapse of WTC 7 was caused by bombs, missiles,
